Your Personal Brand Is Forever

AI is reshaping careers at a speed none of us asked for. But your story, your taste, your singular way of seeing the world - no model can replicate that.

Of course, it's only human nature to wonder whether you'll be one of the unlucky ones whose roles get fully absorbed by the machine. But before you go there, let's not forget something essential: you are a human you.

A unique individual with taste, creativity, lived experience, and a heartbeat. You are the one perfecting the prompt. You're the one finding new and innovative ways to increase productivity, to connect meaningfully with clients, to lead a room when the room still has people in it.

Why Does Personal Branding Matter More Than Ever?

When AI commoditises skills and outputs, what differentiates you is no longer what you can do - it's who you are while you do it. Personal branding is the deliberate, strategic communication of that identity. It's the one competitive moat AI cannot cross.

You're also a person with a heart and soul who is impacted on more than just a professional level by technology that distances us and quietly drains our sense of belonging. You probably haven't felt fully like yourself since 2020. Certain things Scott Galloway says land a little too close to home. Because no matter what you do or how hard you try, you just can't seem to find your groove. Again, or maybe even for the very first time.

That feeling is more common than you think. And it has a solution that's older than any algorithm.

What Is a Personal Brand, Really?

Your personal brand is the honest, consistent story of who you are, what you stand for, and what it feels like to be in your world. It's not a logo or a LinkedIn bio - it's a lived identity, expressed deliberately across everything you do and how you present yourself.

One of my greatest passions is helping people rebrand. Mostly, I do this with businesses - sometimes a successful company that needs a remodel to keep pace with its own achievements, sometimes one that is genuinely fighting for survival in a saturated landscape and needs to put its absolute best foot forward. This is often their last real attempt. I take that seriously.

But it's not just businesses I rebrand. I also rebrand people. And not just any people - particularly, I love rebranding men.

What Does Personal Rebranding Actually Look Like?

He's going to hate me for this, but my own husband came to me early in our relationship and asked for my help. He felt his wardrobe no longer matched who he'd become, and it was quietly driving him mad. The life he'd lived before we got together hadn't been one grounded in self-love first and always. He had aspirations, always, but somewhere along the way, he'd woken up and realised he was no longer the man looking back at him in the mirror.

So we started there. With the mirror. Not with a strategy deck or a content calendar - with the simple, radical act of deciding who he actually was, and then building everything outward from that truth.

That's what personal rebranding looks like. It's not cosmetic. It's not performative. It's the courageous decision to stop showing up as a slightly-off version of yourself - and to start showing up as the real one, consistently, in every context that matters to your career and your life.

OK, Ricki, where do I even start?

Start with the gap: the distance between how the world currently sees you and how you know yourself to be. That gap is the brief. Everything else - the visual identity, the voice, the positioning - flows from closing it honestly.

For some men, the gap is in their visual presentation - their wardrobe, their professional photos, the way they carry themselves in a room. For others, it lives in their digital footprint: a LinkedIn profile that reads like a job description, a website that looks like it was built in 2014, a social presence that's either absent or inconsistent.

For many, the gap is subtler - it's in the story they're telling about themselves, which doesn't quite match the chapter they're actually living in now.

This is not vanity work. Your Personal Brand is the most strategic investment a professional can make in an era where AI can generate content but cannot generate you.

On that note, I've opened a limited number of spots for my new Personal Brand service - a hands-on retainer designed specifically for professionals who know they're more than their current presence suggests.

We'll work together on your visual identity, your story, your positioning, and the way you show up across every platform that matters. You'll come out the other side with a brand that finally feels like you.
